Chapter 29
Hawa’s POV
I finished setting up my small house. It wasn’t fancy, but I had all the essentials. It felt incredibly rewarding to accomplish something on my own. I was happy, and I didn’t know if I wanted to leave anytime soon. I didn’t want to be dependent on any man anymore. As for Moud, I was going to take it slow. I didn’t want to rush into another marriage without really getting to know the person. I planned to do what other girls my age do—go out, watch movies, dine at restaurants, and just enjoy life before even thinking about marriage.
I stretched out on my bed, feeling lazy. The mattress was still on the floor for now, but I hoped to save up enough soon to buy a proper bed.
I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, took a shower, and made a quick breakfast. As I sat down at the table, I heard my phone ring. I had left it in the bedroom, so I got up to fetch it.
“Hello?”
“Hawa, my child, where are you?”
“Hello, Mama Ramata. I’ve moved
