[A few weeks later]

I looked at my reflection in the mirror; my face had almost completely healed, with just a few bruises that weren’t very noticeable. Ousmane had bought me some ointments that worked wonders. We spent all our days and nights at home. He only went out to buy food or visit the pharmacy. He insisted that I not touch anything.
