Chapter 36. Breaking Point
Jeremy’s POV
The drive blurred until I reached the campus. My heart was pulsing so fast in my chest at the thought of seeing her face again. It’d only been four days but it felt like months already.
I dialed her contact but she didn’t pick up. If she didn’t pick on the second ring, I would undoubtedly go through the dormitories till I found her room.
But she picked on the second ring. “Jeremy?” She sounded like she wasn’t sure it was me.
“I’m parked outside,” I said, my tone lower than I intended.
A pause. Then her surprise came through. “Outside? I’m not at my dorm. I’m… I’m at Carol’s. It’s only a few feet away though.”
“I’ll come.”
“Wait…I’ll tell you how to get there,”
“No need,” I cut in. “I’ve been there before. I dropped Chris off once.”
Five minutes later, I was parked in front of Carol’s place. I called again, and it wasn’t long after the line ended that I felt her approaching.
