Chapter 96. Bad Things

“Why do bad things always happen to me?” I whispered to myself as my body began shaking uncontrollably. I had just woken up and the nurses said I had passed out for over twenty-four hours.

Tears streamed down my face and I made no effort to stop them. I couldn’t - there was too much pain, both emotionally and physically.

I sobbed into my hands, my body trembling with each breath. How did I get into an accident? The car was brand new and I hadn’t even had it for a full month. But somehow, the brakes managed to fail.

I was barely able to comprehend what had just happened. The car was meant to be a symbol of a new start. But now, it felt like everything was crumbling around me.

“Why do bad things always happen to me?” I asked again, this time louder, my voice thick with anger, hurt, and frustration.

The door opened slowly and a male figure appeared in the room. From the way he dressed, I could tell he was the doctor.
