Chapter 98. Accident

I felt a little bit relieved when I shared my thoughts with Alexander and he felt the same way. While we waited for the police officer to call back, my mind raced with different thoughts.

What if it wasn’t actually an accident? So someone out there hated me to the point where they wanted to see me dead. What if they still had plans to complete their mission because I managed to survive?

Fear gripped me on the inside but I managed to stay calm. I didn’t want to make any conclusions until I saw what really happened.

A part of me wished it would turn out to be a random desperate stranger because if it was Ethan or anybody else in my vicinity, I was going to be devastated.

My heart raced in anticipation as a call came through Alexander’s phone. I assumed it was the police officer and stayed quiet as he talked to the person.
