Chapter 29. Second Incident
Andrew repeatedly searched my face with a worried gaze. His hands held my shoulders, allowing his eyes to scrutinize me intensely. His fear was evident in his bright eyes. Unable to bear it, I folded my arms and shot him a sharp look.
"Ai, I'm really worried."
"Yeah, I understand. But you see, I'm fine, right?" I said, maintaining my curt tone. As he rubbed his tired face with frustration, I did the same. Taking a slow breath, I lowered his hands from my shoulders and adjusted my tone. "I really am fine, Ndrew. God is still watching over me."
Andrew sat down, somewhat slamming himself onto the long chair in the hospital corridor where we were now. I had asked Anya to handle the administrative matters temporarily, while Cedric had been on the phone, talking animatedly to someone. As soon as I informed Andrew, he came rushing here without allowing me to hang up the call.
