Chapter 33. Andrew’s Mother (1)
As it has become a new habit in my life, Andrew was already in the lobby. Waiting for me while half-leaning on his car, conveniently parked right at the entrance. Sometimes I wonder if he doesn't get kicked out by the building security.
"Long wait?" I was within his reach. Since I stepped out of the elevator and walked through the lobby, his eyes had been fixed on me. He didn't divert his gaze anywhere else but followed my steps as I moved closer to him.
"Just now." Swiftly, he opened the door for me, ensuring I sat comfortably before he hurried to the driver's seat. He drove leisurely, as if his world was confined to just this.
This journey back home was accompanied by the melodious tunes from the car's audio system.
"Tonight, I want to cook dinner."
His statement made me turn to him instantly. "Scrambled eggs?"
Andrew burst into laughter, his eyes crinkling in amusement. "Nice try. It's just an expression."
