Chapter 123. The Text

I decided to go downstairs and drink water after Maureen went into the bathroom. I had not drunk any after dinner because I was in a hurry to follow her. 

I entered the kitchen and switched on the light. No staff member was in sight as everyone had retired for the night. I went to open the refrigerator to get water and a bottle of wine caught my eyes. 

After I drank the water. I decided to to sit down with a cup of wine and allow Maureen calm down before I go back into the room. 

I had been sitting for more than fifteen minutes nursing my wine when I felt someone pressing into the mind link. I excitedly opened thinking it was Maureen. I was disappointed when Dominus' voice asked me if we could talk.

'I am in the kitchen. Come,' I said and closed the link sighing in disappointment.
