Maureen's POV

'Maureen, can I come in?' I heard Mara call from outside the door without knocking. I smiled wondering why she was doing that. 

I just came back from the Beta house after talking with the soldiers and I was feeling low. Lance had excused himself to join the others in working on the house. The one controlled by the compass. 

I wanted to go with him but he said they wanted to surprise the girls so I decided to stay back and wait for either Dawn or Lucia to come back from the Beta house. 

I walked to the door and opened it for Mara to come in. She looked nervous and I had to look at her keenly to see if I could see what was wrong in her eyes.

'Mara, you look nervous. What is the matter? Is Katrina okay?' I asked when I couldn't place my hands on what could be the matter with her.
