Maureen's POV

'They are fifteen minutes away from us,' Ian said, sweating profusely. He had run back to us from spying on the approaching council entourage. 

'Who are those leading the war?' Dad asked. Dad and the Alpha had refused to back down from the battle. 

The Alpha had insisted saying it was his pack and he must fight to protect it. I understood his points so none of us argued with him. The traitors had declared war on his pack and he had to defend his honour. 

'Rogues are leading the battle,' Ian snorted.

'That is very manly of the new president. Rogues are leading the battle for the wolf council,' Lucia said bitterly.

'Since he isn't a mere male, why is he not leading the battle against a mere female?' Dawn said hissing.

'It is good that he will be eating his words soon enough. Get everyone ready general. They will soon be on us,' the Alpha said, addressing one of the High Moon's generals.
