Chapter 106. Wallowing
Eryn’s POV
Atticus has been gone for a week, and I feel myself falling into a depression. The last time we were apart, awful, terrible things happened. I cannot help but feel that this time will be no different.
He promised to call me, but I haven’t heard from him yet. He wouldn’t even tell me who was the first on his list to “visit,” claiming the less I know, the better. So, I think about him all the time. I try to focus on the good memories. The ones that make me smile, but my smile never lasts long. Not when I know he is on his vigilante tour. I hope when this is all over, things can be somewhat normal.
I huddle under the blankets, still wearing the t-shirt he left me in. His scent is fading from it and it is covered in baby food and spit up, but much to everyone’s chagrin, I refuse to take it off. Creating a little fortress in the comfort of my bed, I let the tears fall. Neither Marcus nor Natalie are here to see me cry. It seems the perfect time to wall
