“Are you sure it is safe?” I whisper into the phone. I don’t want to risk waking anyone up, it would only get their hopes up if Atticus is wrong.

“The Elder Council is gone,” Atticus tells me. “I have control of the Warrior Pack again.”

My eyes glance over the sleeping children. “Where is Theo?”

There is a labored silence on the other end of the call. “I don’t know.”

“I went to the apartment,” I admit. “He was there. Sabrina… she’s a fucking idiot. He is going to kill her.”

“I don’t care about her,” Atticus replies gruffly. “I was a fool to leave you alone. No one can protect you like me.”

“Who said I needed protecting?” I ask, pretending to be offended.

“Me,” Atticus growls. “You are mine to protect. Now come home to me. I don’t want to be apart from you for another moment.”
