There is a strained silence in the conference room. It is clear that no one expected me to be here. Only Alpha Jack and Alpha Zach are willing to sit beside me. The rest are seated on the opposite side of the room. For the first time since primary school, I am worried that I might have cooties.

Elder White stands at the head of the table. He is doing his best to ignore my presence. “We are only missing Alpha Edward.”

Zach snorts loudly. “Do you think he would actually have the balls to show up after what he did? I will kill him on sight for crossing my sister.”
