Chapter 29. Lilies

Eryn’s POV

I walk down the hallway with the bouquet of roses in my arms. I am frustrated. Atticus and Cassie stormed off without letting me explain. The bouquet is so massive that I can’t see over or around them. I shift them to the other arm when I bump into someone running down the hallway. I fall back on my ass and groan loudly.

The roses fall all over the floor, and I cuss under my breath as I get to my feet. Misty’s eyes are wide with jealousy as she looks at the scattered flowers. “Are those from Atticus?” She whispers.

“What?” I laugh nervously. “Of course not. They are from my ex.”

“Oh,” Misty says. “He must be working hard to get you back.”

“Yeah,” I mumble under my breath. “With his mark on another woman’s neck.”

“Yikes,” she gasps. “What does his mate think of this?”

“She doesn’t know, or she doesn’t care. Either way, it is not my problem,” I shrug as I pick the roses up off the floor.
