Chapter 46. Mate

Eryn’s POV

The wheels of the airplane hit the runway, and my stomach leaps into my throat. My head bounces against the window as I look at the rustic landscape. It is the same as I remember.

I have been gone for thirteen months, and I am not the same doe-eyed girl who boarded the plane for the Academy. I have lost a lot of things over the past year. The biggest of all being my naivety.
