Chapter 97. Jealousy

Eryn’s POV

Atticus pulls up to the apartment building, and I am shocked. I don’t know what I was expecting, but the most lavish building in Johnston City was not it. I feel out of place for the first time with my blue hair and tattoos.

I try to gather the nerve to get out of the Jeep while Atticus unloads our luggage. The scent of humans is thick in the air. There are no werewolves besides Atticus and me, and I feel nervous.

Atticus taps on my window, and I jump out of my seat. Clutching my hand to my chest, I glare at him. “You scared me.”

He opens my door, and I swallow hard. I don’t want to get out. “Don’t tell me you are afraid of the humans?” He teases me.

“A little,” I admit.

“They are just like us,” he assures me. “You might even like them.”

I finally get out of the Jeep and follow him into the building. He nods to a woman at a desk, and she bats her fake eyelashes at him. I don’t like the way she looks at him, and I almost gro
