Layla’s POV

“Man, dealing with Lucy can be a handful sometimes,” I remarked, running my fingers through my hair.

Today’s workout had left both me and Helia exhausted.

“But we all still adore her. I guess her unfiltered mouth is what won everyone over,” Helia responded.

“Yeah, we all love her despite it all.”

Feeling sweaty and grimy, I suggested to Helia that we shower together, but he interrupted me with surprising news.

“The agency is looking for Michaela again,” Helia said, causing my head to spin. I quickly sat on the bed, fearing I might pass out.

“But… they can’t do that! It’s not supposed to happen,” I protested.

“Michaela received the call just yesterday, but plans were made months ago,” Helia explained.

“No, this can’t be happening, especially not now. Michaela just got her life back on track after the incident with Celeste. It was so hard to contain her the last time; I can’t even imagine what she’ll do
