Layla’s POV

“Shit! No, no, no! This can’t be happening! Is there any way we can reject Central Command’s order?! It will be disastrous if we go along with this,” I exclaimed, panic coursing through my veins.

“They could feign sickness, but then the Command would send people to check on them,” one of the agents suggested.

“Make them claim to be ill, and I’ll take care of the rest. Agent Ryan, starting today, you’ll have a broken arm, and Michaela, you’ll have a sprained knee,” I proposed, thinking on my feet.

“But we won’t be able to get medical attention,” Michaela interjected.

“Pfft, have you guys forgotten something?” I interrupted Michaela before she could finish her sentence. She looked at me with confusion, and I couldn’t help but smile.

“As a doctor, I can pass any examination. If they’ve been watching us like I think they have, they’ll know we went hiking today, and Troy hasn’t been seen in public for a while. It’s the perf
