Apphia’s POV

I’m not yet officially sworn in as Queen, but it was a matter of time. I’m polite to everyone, and the alphas and their partners are attentive to me and greet me with the utmost respect.

“You are a true beauty, fit for a king, Luna Apphia,” an older Luna smiles; her husband, way younger than she is, agrees. I converse with most of them. I’m being pulled into conversations before I can make an excuse to leave. Finally, finding a space alone, I mind-link my mate. I haven’t spoken to him in hours.

’I was about to check on you. Where are you, baby?’ he asks.

’I’m downstairs; I was dragged into the party,’ I sigh.

’Are the twins with you?’ he asks. My eyes search for Chelsea. She’s talking to Gamma, Niall. Is he flirting with her? Her cheeks are a little flushed.

’Yes,’

’I’ll be there in five minutes,’

I turn to go back when I bump into someone. Gavin. Gavin is looking at me intently, his eyes full of love like a puppy.
