Chapter 12. The Bottom of the Food Chain

Fortunately, his new object of fixation managed to keep his butt on his chair for the whole day. I think we managed to get a few more things done today since I’ve been pestering him through emails. Counting it as my revenge for doing work off the clock and for attending an event I don’t fit in. More than that, I know he’s not getting off his PC anytime soon, and I’ll take any opportunity I can to sneak in some productivity to his otherwise perpetual personal time.
This tactic worked so well that I was shocked when I saw the time in proportion to the number of reviews and scheduled meetings he approved. I guess he’d do anything to get his workload done so he could focus on his ‘therapy.’ By the time my shift was over, satisfaction had washed over me.
I can finally rest easy knowing the follow-up today won’t be the same follow-ups I have to address tomorrow. Work never ends, but I’m glad to b
