Chapter 107

Camilla’s POV

I was getting ready for dinner with Raphael. I liked how things were with us. I wish there were a way for us to forget about our current lives and move across the country to start a new life. Being in the public eye was not for the weak.

Everybody else in the house had fallen asleep except for my grandpa. He was in his study still doing work even though his doctor had advised him not to stay up too late.

Raphael texted me to tell me he had arrived. I did finishing touches on my makeup, took one last look at myself in the mirror, and headed out. I had worn the jewelry he got for me at that auction. I wondered if he would notice.

“Grandpa, don't stay up too late, okay?” I said as I opened the door to his study.

“I know. You don't have to keep nagging me. Go, go. Have fun
