Chapter 4

When Alice saw the man standing in front of her, familiarly smiling, she felt her heart thudding in her chest. She stared at that face for a long time before she dared to blink.

It wasn't a dream, was it?

Alice secretly pinched herself only to realize that this wasn’t a dream. This was indeed her reality, and her ex, whom she had been trying to forget, was standing here.

Reality dawned on her soon enough as her eyes widened. She watched the man's lips moving in slow motion as he brought his hands forward, gripping a bouquet in his hand filled with rose flowers, “This is for you, Alice.”

It sounded so nice to be able to hear her name again. Alice shook her head and patted her cheeks. Had she forgotten how and why they broke up? This guy should have enjoyed a lifetime with Vikki! How could she think about Chris like this?
