I was in the TV room, completely immersed in the latest episode of my current favorite series. But suddenly, I felt a presence around me. My eyes abandoned the screen and met Livia, my stepmother, staring at me with a look loaded with intentions that instantly bothered me. Whenever she looked at me like that, I felt uncomfortable, as if something was wrong.

I tried to disguise my unease, casually commenting, "I didn't know you were back from the trip." I turned my attention back to the TV, hoping she would catch the message and leave. I didn't want her presence to ruin my moment of relaxation.

"I arrived this morning," Livia replied casually. She didn't seem bothered by the cold treatment I was giving her. Without ceremony, she sat beside me, getting uncomfortably close, which increased my discomfort. I decided to move away, making it clear that her proximity was unwelcome.
