After that unsettling encounter in the bathroom and Livia's disturbing threats, I needed a few minutes in front of the mirror to absorb the gravity of what had happened. When I finally felt less shaken, I returned to the table, but facing Logan's stepmother became a daunting task now that her true personality was exposed. I wondered if Logan had any idea of the danger lurking, of the clear obsession Livia harbored for him.
"Are you alright?" Logan asked, looking at me attentively.
In front of Joe Miller, I chose to agree and disguise my turmoil behind a forced smile. Subtly, I tried to communicate with Logan, longing to leave and distance myself as much as possible from his stepmother.
Logan seemed to notice my unease but didn't fully grasp the urgency of my message. I decided to be more direct and murmured, looking at him with apprehension, "Logan, can we leave? I'm not feeling well."
