Returning from the office, a wave of irritation enveloped me. Cecilia's constant coldness was becoming unbearable, and the desire to confront Caíque was almost uncontrollable. Teresa's call that morning only fueled my anger further. Her attempts to justify herself and absolve herself of any responsibility for what happened only contributed to the storm of emotions within me. According to Teresa, Caíque contacted her with a job offer in Angra, and that's why she ended up going to my parents' house on the island.

Despite the anger pulsating in my veins at this revelation, the truth did not surprise me. I already suspected some kind of setup by Caíque, but having the facts confirmed brought forth an intense mix of emotions.

I walked through the house with heavy steps, my mind turbulent with conflicting thoughts. I felt like a caged lion, without the right to let out all that turmoil.

Testing the doorknob of the room, I confirm that Cecilia is already home.
