Becca's heart pounded in her chest, fear and anger swirling inside her.

She glanced around, searching for an ally among the high-ranking wolves who had followed them. But their expressions were a mix of confusion and awe, offering no support. They were bound to their oath to serve their Alpha and be submissive.
