Chapter 56. Fat But Wrong Horse

Becca's POV

I was assigned a room in the Alpha wing of the packhouse.

As I glance around the room, my eyes fall upon a large bed positioned at the center.

Thank goodness. Finally, I have the opportunity to sleep peacefully with Alex being far away. However, I'm aware it's just for one night, now that he has had the chance to touch me, he's surely anticipating taking our intimacy further.

Knowing that he won’t be around me for some time made me lower my guard.

He has an unpleasant habit of pulling me close whenever he can. In fact, I believe this is the main cause of my depression, constantly inhaling the scent of someone I deeply dislike was intolerable.

It's still early, with the sun just beginning to rise. Alex and Johnston are scheduled to leave in the evening, which means I have a few more hours of his company to manage.

"Do you need Johnston today, Alex? I'd like to show him around in my pack," I inquired.
