As I entered the hospital, I was greeted by the head nurse with enthusiasm. She hastened to call in the doctor.

“The Luna is here for a check-up,” she informed the doctor on duty. The doctor walked to me with a smile, but when he looked behind me, his face tightened.

“Did you come alone, Luna? Where is Alpha Alex then?” he asked in surprise. “This is your first consultation here, so I was expecting he wanted to be with you.”

“In the packhouse with our guests. Can we start now, doctor?” I insisted, a bit irritated. The doctor's eyes flickered with concern, but he nodded and led me down the hall. We walked through a door into a room filled with all kinds of brand-new equipment.
