Brielle’s POV
“Relax. I’m not here for that.”
No soul? Then what? What would a demon be doing here if not to come and collect what he is owed? That is not really what concerns me at the moment. I want to survive. I can’t leave yet.
“What do you want? Tell me!” I acted tough. I can’t show that I am scared.
“Must you always think the worst of me? I came all the way here to help you,” he said to me, sounding a little offended.
I couldn’t make out whether he was serious or just pulling my leg for fun. Right now, I am desperate, and I am afraid that whatever despicable schemes that Kael came with, I might just fall for them. But at this point, what could be worse than promising him my soul?
