Chapter 84
Kyle and I spent most of the night drinking, but the topic of Brielle never came up. He then left to go back to his mate, and I was yet again left to loneliness and silence. I tried to get some sleep, but I guess I didn’t drink enough to get knocked out. I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, hoping that wherever she was, she was missing me just the same. I ended up falling asleep, but it wasn’t easy. I tossed and turned until morning.
I woke up and went to do my daily routine getting ready to leave. I had to talk to my father to agree to stay in charge of the pack until I came back. Now that Kyle was here, he would be able to help us when needed. I definitely can’t involve him. I wouldn’t forgive myself if I took him along and anything happened to him. Not when he’s going to be a father. I can’t deprive his mate and child of his presence.
