Cara's POV

One year later...

I couldn't believe one year had passed by, but the evidence was clear: everyone was finally getting back to their normal lives—everyone but me.

I had decided to visit the pack healer, and I made sure Rollins didn't know about it. It had been a year, and I was getting worried; maybe something was wrong with me.

He never spoke again about having a child, but we had been trying for a year. I knew werewolves didn't easily get pregnant like humans do, but then, it still got me worrying. A part of me knew that I was broken. It wasn't him, it was me. Something went wrong with me, and this was the result. I told no one though. I was grateful to find Matilda alone in the healing room, arranging her tools.

I walked in, shutting the door.

Matilda turned to me; she didn't look surprised to see me here; she had a bright smile on her face; I owed her a lot; the last time I had been treated by her was after the war;
