Cara's POV

"My womb can no longer carry a child; that's what Matilda told me when I went for a checkup. I always knew; I was afraid to tell you, but I knew there was something wrong with me."

"How is that possible? She said you were fine when we went for the last checkup."

I pulled away from his embrace, turning my back on him. I didn't want to see the look on his face when I told him that Teo had taken more from us than we thought, that even in his death, we still suffered the consequences of his action.
