Cara's POV

I don't know how long I stayed unconscious, but by the time I opened my eyes, I was in my room, and Vlad was seated there waiting.

"What happened?" I asked him.

"I should ask you that question. When I got the information that you were yet to arrive at the pack, I had to search for you, and then I found you... I thought you were dead; what happened?"

I scowled. "We never got there; they waited for us on the way; it was like they knew we were coming."

"How is that possible?" 

"You really underestimated the Shadow Pack, there is a reason they are the most feared in the world."

He was silent for a while. I could sense he was furious, but it was not at me; my act was good enough. "How are you feeling now?" he asked.

"Better? I don't need to lie down here anymore."

"I want you to come with me then."

"Where are we heading to?"

"It is a surprise, and I believe you would like it."
