Chloe’s POV
I was sitting on the couch in my new place. My heart was still beating fast from everything that happened, but I was not finished.
Not at all. I called Grace, whom I knew had her own reasons for hating Layla. If I couldn’t do it by myself, Grace was my next best option. A knock at the door pulled me out of my thoughts. I stood up, brushed my shirt down, and opened the door.
“Chloe?” Grace stood at the door, dark hair slicked back, sharp eyes. She was wearing a leather jacket and jeans.
“Come in,” I said, moving out of the way. “Please close the door behind you.”
She did and surveyed the apartment. “Nice place,” she said dryly.
“It’s temporary,” I said, clearly not in the mood for small talk. “Please take a seat. We need to talk.”
