I stood on the yacht’s deck, the salty breeze doing nothing to cool the fire inside me. My hands clenched into fists, nails digging into my palms.
How dare he? Ezra left me here, stranded at this stupid party, like I was nothing.
I could still see the way he’d looked at Layla, his eyes all soft and protective, like she was the only person in the world.
He saw me drunk, stumbling over my words, and he didn’t even care. He just left with her, like I was some afterthought. My chest burned with anger, and I muttered under my breath, “You only care about Layla, don’t you, Ezra?”
I walked back and forth on the deck, the sound of my heels clacking against the wooden surface. Even though I’d had a few drinks and my head was swimming there was no way I’d let this go.
