Chapter 24. What Did I Just Hear?

Ezra’s POV

I let out a sigh of relief as I saw Layla drive away from the beach.

I was about to walk to my car when I spotted a familiar figure sitting close to the ocean.

I walked closer, hoping it wasn’t who I thought it was, but that hope was all shattered when I confirmed that it was actually Chloe who was sitting there.

I stopped released a frustrated sigh and pinched my nose bridge.

This was so annoying. She was such a hassle to deal with, and I couldn’t just leave her there. Mum and Dad would be upset, and I’d feel guilty if anything were to happen to her. And she was so unpredictable, there’s no guarantee that she wouldn’t do something crazy.

I walked over to her with heavy steps and a straight face.

Once I reached where she was, I stood behind her, but she didn’t notice me. That was weird. She was a very sensitive and alert person.

I then squatted and placed my hand on her shoulder, bringing her out of her reverie.
