Chapter 25. What a Surprise

Ezra’s POV

What was going on?

“M-mum?” Chloe said, her voice cracking as she looked at Mum.

“Y-you’re sending me away?” She asked, choking me back tears.

Mum looked away from her and said.

“You’re going for further studies. Get ready.” Mum said as she turned to walk away when Chloe grabbed her arm.

“Mum, please, please don’t do this to me. Don’t send me away.” Chloe pleaded with tears flowing down her cheeks.

Mum snatched her arm away from Chloe with her back to her, making Chloe sob even louder.

Mum let out a sigh before turning to look at Chloe, giving her a once-over.

I saw her resolve crack a bit, but she quickly masked it with a cold face.

“No, Chloe. Just look at yourself. You don’t even think before you do anything, all in the name of love. For Christ’s sake, you look revolting. And all because of what? Love? This isn’t love, Chloe. And I’m not changing my decision, so you better get ready.” Mum said before tu
