Chapter 36. Meeting Ezra

Caleb’s POV

“Layla meet my son, Ezra!”

As I introduced Ezra as my son, I couldn’t help but find amusement in the expression on Layla’s face. Her demeanor shifted instantly, a blend of surprise and curiosity that momentarily caught me off guard. Something was rewarding about that moment, watching her try to mask her emotions while I motioned for her to get in the car.

“Hi, it’s nice meeting you,” Layla said faking a smile.

It’s almost like they knew each other outside work and I will find out more later. For now, I want to catch up with Layla.
