Chapter 35. A New Beginning

The bell rang, indicating closing time.

This still made me laugh as if we were in elementary school, but it was an efficient way of informing everyone that the stores were closing.

Even though the bell had already rang, an automated voice came from the speakers.

“Dear customers, the stores are closing. If you haven’t made the payment, please do so immediately and kindly step out. Thank you for patronizing us, and have a good night.”

For the next ten minutes, customers piled out of the stores, and once they were completely out, the glass door was shut, and the sign switched to closed.

Once the door was secured, the automated voice came again.

“All employees, please report to your subordinates and prepare to check out for the day.”
