Chapter 19
The road that led to the Lycan King's palace was a bit ridiculously rusty. The messenger, named Roderick, felt his exhaustion catching up to him after covering a vast distance to deliver a crucial message to the king. The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows on the uneven path.
As Roderick trudged along, he couldn't help but curse his luck for having to make such a treacherous journey. His thoughts were consumed by the desire to reach his destination and finally rest. However, his focus was abruptly shattered when he stumbled over a loose stone, causing him to wince as pain shot through his side.
Sweat trickled down Roderick's brow, a mixture of exertion and discomfort. He tried to ignore the stinging sensation at his abdomen, but it grew increasingly difficult. Clutching his side, he slowed his pace, hoping the pain would subside.
