Chapter 34
The words hit him like a punch to the gut, and he staggered backward. He was sure she was lying, but he couldn't imagine any other reason for her to think such a thing. He had been planning to save her, not harm her. Why would she think he would try to hurt her?
He shook his head. "That's impossible. There's no way you—"
"There is a way," she insisted. "And you're going to help me kill all of them."
"No," he said. "Absolutely not."
"You will," she ordered. "Or I'll shoot you in the head right now."
He began, but then he took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. "Okay, fine," he said. "But I'm warning you—whatever you want me to do, I'll do it. Just put the gun down and let's talk about this."
