Chapter 90

Thomas fell in love at the eve of December when he was trying to find his way back home. He couldn't believe that the woman he was seeing now was really interested in him because he didn't see anything special in himself.

When Hope touched him gently and told him that everything was going to be fine and that he wasn't missing as he assumed, he felt a new sense of peace descend in him.

"What is going to happen to you?" he asked her.

"I'll have to leave you soon, but I will come back when I can. Don't forget that I'm still there for you when you need me," she answered.

The thought that he would be left alone in the dark world once again filled Thomas with a fear that threatened to choke him. He needed her so much, it felt as though she was the air he breathed.

"I won't," he promised.

She smiled and kissed his cheek. "You'll be all right, Thomas. You are a very special person.
