Chapter 63. Arson? That Makes No Sense!

The meal was going quite smoothly and I was already listing out the activities I'd to relax for the day. Hell knew, I was damn tired from talking to Helen yesterday and coming up with strategies. Axel had stopped eating to take a certain work call but the expression on his face was no good and it seemed troubled.

“Axel... What's the matter? ”

“Oh... It's just some some issue the company is having. It's odd for that to come up now.”

“What's that? ”

He sighed groaned and kept rubbing his temple. I had no idea when I had stood up and took his hands in mine.

“What are you doing wifey?” Too late, shit! What was I doing? Why did I do it?!

“You looked tense. It's really not nice. Not when you look soo good this morning. I don't like that expression on you face and you keep rubbing your temples. Tell me, what exactly happened at work? ”

For a moment, I thought I saw a warm smile but when, I blinked, it was gone. Like it was never there.
