Chapter 119. Discharge
I couldn't help but feel frustrated after learning that Auntie Anne was no longer at their home. It seemed like she had found out that her accomplice had been caught, and now she was in hiding.
"There's no record of her leaving the country. Basically, she's still here in our country and hiding," the officers updated me. "Don't worry, Mrs. Gomez. We will do everything to apprehend her and make sure you get justice for what she did to you," Sergeant said, assuring me that they would do their best to capture Auntie Anne, no matter what it took.
"Thank you. Please, call me again if you have any updates about her," I said.
"You can count on it."
I proceeded to Atty. Padilla's office. Carl had recommended him to me because they were friends. Carl even offered to accompany me, but I declined. I didn't want to burden him further. I wasn't naive; I knew how busy he was with his company, and every second counted.
I decided to take a leave of absence from my job.
