Chapter 78
Suddenly loud shouts from our enemies were heard, announcing to each other that they were retreating. They probably no longer saw any point in this fight. Unfortunately, I had long since lost track, but apparently, we had the advantage, which is why the hunters gave up, at least for today.
Zoran and I paused as they all retreated. If we weren't attacked, we wouldn't be either.
Relief flooded through me and it was only now that I realized how much I had exhausted myself. I was aware of it, just not in that way. I fell to my knees and was incredibly exhausted. Zoran joined me right next to me and did the same, we had both given a lot.
That had been a fierce fight.
Smiling slightly, I looked over at him and it was immediately reciprocated. I couldn't put into words how much I missed this man. Finally, we had each other again. Just seeing his face gave me great joy. Those brown, familiar eyes seemed exhausted, but they still held warmth.
