Valeria's POV

"Did you hear what I just said!?" He almost shouted. I jumped briefly and just nodded uncertainly, not wanting to say the wrong thing. "And what did I say?" He now asked me demandingly.

I did not know it. Because I wasn't listening again. I turned away from him and looked at the ground. The third time I would have liked to disappear into thin air.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!" He took two fingers and pushed my chin towards him so I had to look at him. There were tears in my eyes. Everything can change so quickly in a few minutes.

"I want this to work between us, you understand? And I have to be able to trust you and if you lie to me or run away.." He sighed and exhaled.

I wanted to look away when he said "Go away," but his fingers held my head tightly. "Then we have a serious problem with each other. Do you understand?"

I didn't know what he meant by "serious problem," but I didn't want to find out.
