Valeria's POV

Alec left it up to me to decide what to do for the rest of the morning. So I decided to take a walk. I wanted to get to know this area even better and maybe I could get a few more details out of Alec. At least that's what I thought, but I haven't discovered his talent yet. I don't know how, but he always managed to beat around the bush successfully. Whenever I tried to bring up the topic, he would deflect it, talk nonsense, or keep the information under wraps.

After several failed attempts, I finally gave up and just enjoyed the beautiful weather, the surroundings, and his presence. He told me a lot about how the settlement came about. He talked about the distribution of tasks, that everyone has their place here and knows what it is. He also talked about how living together only works if everyone participates. The individual gears must mesh with each other and to be honest, he was right about that.
