I pushed him away and took some distance again.
“It was a mistake to meet you! It was a mistake to go outside that one night! Because then I would never have met you."
I looked at him with slitted eyes and waved my fingers in front of his face.
"And let me tell you one thing. Touch me like that again and you will bitterly regret it!"
I got in my car, started the engine, and sped away. Inwardly, I hoped he wouldn't follow me, but secretly I knew he would. He couldn't let this go. His bestial nature wouldn't allow that. And yet, every time I looked in the rearview mirror, I saw nothing but yawning emptiness.
Maybe he had finally understood it after all.
