Chapter 294

Olivia's POV

After I finished showering, I put on appropriate clothes for today's work before running into my kitchen, which was directly adjacent to the living room. There, I made myself a coffee and put two slices of bread in the toaster, which I spread with butter and strawberry jam.

I love strawberry jam, I thought to myself as I bit into my bread with relish and let the taste melt on my tongue. It's a shame that strawberries are rarely available in winter, and when they are, they're usually not very tasty. I sighed at the thought of it.

After finishing every last bite, I put the used dishes in the sink and put on my shoes. I glanced at the clock before quickly grabbing my jacket and bag and locking my apartment. I'm a little late, I thought to myself, as the hands-on my clock already showed half past eight. So I ran down the stairs until I breathed in the cold winter air, which immediately enveloped me.
