Chapter 20
As we strolled back through the pack's nighttime streets from Mrs. Patterson's after meeting her, Amber, I laid my head on Juan's shoulder. Whatever occurred with her, I still don't comprehend it. Why wouldn't she want us?
Juan requested, "Since we're going to war tomorrow, can you both stay with me tonight?" I replied by humming on his shoulder.
"Sure, I'll just text my parents once," said Myrtle.
We were all too stunned by the day's events to speak the rest of the trip to Juan's apartment, but I could hear Holland howling in my brain, pleading with me to return to her. We made quick time to Juan's room, where we could sleep comfortably in his king-sized bed.
